IDUKKI: MLA V T Balram, on Tuesday, came under strong criticism at the Youth Congress meeting for his recent ‘wretched creature’ remark aimed at Idukki Bishop Mar Mathew Anikuzhikattil. The leaders asserted that if Idukki UDF candidate Dean Kuriakose happened to lose the electoral battle, the party would squarely blame Balram for it.
In the meeting chaired by Youth Congress State vice-president K C Mahesh Kumar, the criticism that came up was that he acted like mythical character Bhasmasuran who got boon from Lord Siva.
The leaders said that Balram could have made such a critical comment as soon as it was decided not to give Lok Sabha seat to P T Thomas. And, comments made after Dean was made the candidate could let situations spin out of control for the party.
