KOTTAYAM: NCP state chief T P Peethambaran Master has been offered the Governor’s post if a decision to leave the Left Front is announced. Party national president Sharad Pawar has asked the state unit to inform at the earliest whether to leave the Left Front or not. The promise will be fulfilled if the UPA Government assumes power again.
It is heard that the directive was suggested by Pawar at the talks held in Goa. There is nothing wrong in being with the LDF now but after the Lok Sbaha polls the state unit will have to follow the political stand announced by the NCP central leadership.
The party national general secretary and state president Peethambaran Master will resign his post and another person will replace him when they leave the Front.
The party having two MLAs is trying to keep them on their side. But Uzhavoor Vijayan and A K Saseendran MLA have announced to be with the Left Front. They are also trying to bring Thomas Chandy MLA along with them. Talks are on and a decision will be taken only after the polls.
Meantime, party leaders are refuting everything.
