KOCHI: AICC spokesperson P C Chacko has said that the current political climate in the national was not favourable to the Congress party and therefore the party cannot rubbish the party’s possibility to sit in the Opposition. Even if receives a setback in election at national level, the Congress will make some progress in Kerala.
Chacko was taking part in the election debate organised by Ernakulam Press Club on Saturday.
Chacko said: The UPA government has failed in reaching out to the people to inform them about its achievements. The party also failed to check allegations of corruption. The Prime Minister often shied away from facing the media and this has drawn several criticisms. Many in the cabinet have urged the prime minister to talk to media about his government’s administrative achievements, at least once in a week. This suggestion was raised even in AICC meet. But for some reason or other, the prime minister had not given in to that suggestion.
