Kaviyoor sex scandal: Court pulls up CBI

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In the Kaviyoor sex scandal case, the CBI came under strong criticism from the court. While considering the case on Friday, the court said it could not agree with several of the CBI findings regarding the case.

The court said: “The CBI’s arguments in the court should have proper backing of evidence. Just speculations or assumptions won't do. How could the CBI stress that Anakha, who was allegedly subjected to sexual abuse, didn’t go out? Why didn’t CBI come forward to enquire about the letter received by the high court?”

The court also rejected the CBI’s contention that some bogus person had sent the letter. It asked were there any reason for a bogus person who had no relation to the case to send such a letter.

The case relates to a 2008 incident wherein Anakha, father Narayanan Namboothiri, mother Sreedevi, brother Akshay, and Sister Akhila were found dead.
