KOTHAMANGALAM: Prof T J Joseph of Newman College in Thodupuzha, whose palm was chopped by radicals, will join service soon. The diocese of Kothamangalam changed their former stand after holding talks with Prof Joseph Monday morning. The diocese has given him a chance to enter service on March 28 and retire on 31st and a written document on it will be handed over to Joseph within two days.
The diocese changed their stand following stiff opposition from the society, human rights activists and devotees of the sabha. It has been hinted that they have put forward a condition as not to take any legal action against the sabha or institution when a chance is given to retire with pension benefits.
Joseph said nothing can replace Salomi but still happy as her last wish has been fulfilled and thanked the sabha and society for the decision.
