RSP came for talks after pact with UDF, says Pinarayi

KOLLAM: Before coming to hold talks with the Left Front, the RSP had made a pact with the UDF, said CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan.  Talking at the election programme organized at the Kollam Press Club, he said they cheated us politically.

The version of the RSP that the CPM took a unilateral decision is totally baseless. As the RSP was contesting in the Kollam seat for three times, they very well knew the seat will not be given this time and that is why they failed to attend the LDF meet.

They did not come for the bilateral talks convened instead they came to sever ties with us.
N K Premachandran was elected to the Rajya Sabha once and had twice contested to the Lok Sabha. He later became a state minister. CPM is not responsible for his defeat in the Lok Sabha polls.

Pinarayi said the NCP will not leave the Left Front but some from the party may have held talks for that. There is nothing wrong in fielding independent candidates in the polls. The privacy of individuals should be considered. There is no meaning in terming it as payment seat. Dr Bennet Abraham and Christy Fernandes had led a decent official life and there are no accusations against them. If anyone wants to stain them they can do that, he said.
