TP murder: Report publicized will benefit CPM, says VS

ALAPPUZHA: The party investigation commission’s report publicized in the murder of RMP leader T P Chandrasekharan will benefit the CPM in the polls, said opposition leader V S Achuthanandan. Talking to the media, he said that he is satisfied with the findings of the report.

TP’s family suspected that the murder was committed with the initiative of the CPI (M). It is not the practice of the CPM to kill its own activists. Party general secretary Prakash Karat had stated that if the party activists are involved in the case, then they will be ousted from the party. On the basis of that, K C Ramachandran was ousted from the party.

There is nothing wrong in fielding independent candidates in the polls. Mundassery Master and Krishna Iyer were independents in the E M S Government in 1956, VS said in reply to a question on fielding independent candidates.

RSP leaving the Front will not affect in the polls. RSP leader N K Premachandran, who took part in the strike against the chief minister in the solar case, joined the congress one day, VS said sarcastically.

I’ve never said the winning chance of the LDF is less. When campaign becomes stronger, I will opine more on that.  I stick to my stand and the media twisted my former statement, he said.
