KOTTAYAM: The LDF has invited Kerala Congress (Mani) to be a part of their front. KC (M) is likely to leave the UDF if draft notification on the Kasturirangan report is not issued. Party chairman K M Mani, who took the stand at the meeting, held in Kottayam yesterday that the party will not leave the UDF has taken a severe stand today. It is heard that a bishop of the Catholic Sabha having close relation with the Left Front has intervened in the matter.
The bishop, who has a strong influence in Kottayam, Idukki and Pathanamthitta districts directly held talks with Kerala Congress and CPM leaders at the pastoral council meeting held on Saturday. A decision has been taken not to announce the candidate in Idukki till the CPM state secretariat meet is convened on Tuesday.
