NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court will examine whether any discrimination has happened while sanctioning bar licenses. The court decided to examine it after a plea was filed by owners of 3-star bar hotels claiming that discrimination was seen in granting bar licenses.
The court has directed bar owners to produce the documents in connection with the renewal of bar license. The case will be considered again on April 22.
The government earlier decided not to renew the license of 418 substandard bars. However, the petitioners argued that the license of 3-star hotels was not renewed. They informed the court that permission was granted to two bars after the announcement of new liquor policy.
