THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Responding to the photograph controversy linking Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala to gold smuggler Fayaz, KPCC president VM Sudheeran has said that social workers going to Gulf countries may have to pose with strangers for photographs. And it is not necessary to trace their identity.
He said he had discussed the photo issue with Ramesh Chennithala and the latter had suggested a CBI inquiry into the new controversy as well. “It was Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan who had demanded a CBI inquiry into the association between Fayaz and TP case convicts. Let the investigation bring under its ambit Fayaz’ connections with others. At least at this time, let CPM put aside its opposition to CBI inquiry into the TP case,” said Sudheeran.
Regarding the cabinet reshuffle, he said the chief minister had the right to reshuffle the cabinet any time. But the situation doesn’t demand so now. The discussions regarding reshuffle were not held in the Congress meetings.
