13440 KSRTC employees may lose job

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government’s sanctioning of new KSRTC package has left the employees in a state of anxiety. The decision is to cut down 30 pc of staff strength.  

The KSRTC has 35,000 permanent staff and 9801 temporary staff. 30 percent of the above means 13,440, who will lose the job.

The move is to lay off some temporary staff and to give VRS to employees who are nearing their pension age. There are also plans to cut down the number of Mechanical employees.

The allegation is that KSRTC did not discuss the matter with the employees before preparing the report.
