KOCHI: Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala has said that case cannot be taken against Amrithanandamayi math based on mere allegations in a book. “Whatever be the content of the book, the government is least bothered,” he told media persons in reply to a question.
He said the police were bound to take case against those who allegedly defamed Amrithanandamayi math since they received a written complaint from some devotees.
Karunanagappally police had on Thursday registered the case. Karunanagappally SP will be probing the case after getting orders from Kollam Rural SP.
Australian national Gail Tredwell, once a close aide of Amrithanandamayi, in her book titled Holy Hell, had made several allegations against Amrithanandamayi math and its inmates.
