KALPATTA: Chief Minister Ooommen Chandy has said that those who know about the services done by Mata Amrithanandamayi and her math to the mankind will never make allegations against her. He was responding to CPM State Secretary Pinarayi Vijayan’s statement that allegations against the math and its head should be taken up with due seriousness.
“It is not right to censure Amrithanandamayi math on the basis of certain revelations. Pinarayi may not know the big things Mata has done for society. But as a person who has first-hand information about her services, I can’t criticise her. When all were dazed by the Tsunami calamity, the first group that rushed forward with help was Amrithanandamayi and her math. One should not slam the math just because something unpleasant about it appeared in a book,” Chandy said.
Meanwhile, KPCC president V M Sudheeran has not expressed his opinion on Pinarayi’s statements. He, however, said that he didn’t have detailed information about the allegations and would speak up after properly studying the issue.
