Cops seriously injured in attack

KANHANGAD: Two cops have been seriously injured in an attempt to attack the them when they tried to avert sand smuggling. Bekal sub inspector V Rajesh (32) seriously injured has been admitted at a private hospital in Mangalore and another cop Prashob at the district hospital. The incident happened at 11 pm last night. The mini lorry carrying sand hit the two cops when they tried to stop the vehicle. The police have taken the lorry into custody and search is on to nab the accused.
