Bus driver’s eye damaged in stone-throwing incident

NEYYATTINKARA: Two persons who came in a bike threw stones at a KSRTC bus in Parassala on Monday, injuring the bus driver’s eye. Police have been conducting search for the two.  

The incident happened at about 12:30 pm at Parassuvakkal in Parasala. The bikers followed the bus plying from Nagercoil to Thiruvananthapuram. At Parassuvakkal,  they over took the bus and threw stones at it. The injured also included conductor Sumesh , 28, a native of Kadakkavoor besides driver Suresh, 45, from Aralummodu.

Though the police reached the spot and shifted the two to Parassala hospital, Suresh was later taken to the Eye hospital as his eye injury was severe. The bus had as many as 20 passengers but fortunately none of them got injured.
