KOCHI: The CBI filed a joint charge sheet in the CJM court in Ernakulam in seven cases naming lottery king Santiago Martin as the first accused in the Sikkim fake lottery case. Martin’s aide John Kennedy and five others were named accused in the case.
The charge sheet says the state government has not suffered any loss in the lottery case but the Sikkim Government experienced the loss. Santiago has not sold any fake lottery in the state and so it was not detected. Lotteries which had the permission of the Sikkim Government were only sold in the state. Martin had incurred a loss of Rs 4000 crores to the Sikkim Government by cheating them.
