THRISSUR: SNDP general secretary Vellapally Natesan on Friday virtually made a mockery of NSS general secretary G Sukumaran Nair’s recent statements. He said the chair once sanctified by a great person called Mannatthu Padmanabhan is now being occupied by a naïve person like Sukumaran Nair, who has no clue about the sanctity of the chair.
“If that is not the case, will he say that he is his community’s Pope,” Vellappally Natesan quipped, and added that he recalled the old Malayalam song “Kanaka simhasanathil kayari irikkunnavan Shumbano atho Shunakano”.
Vellappally said KPCC president V M Sudheeran should not have gone to Perunna. “It is Sukumaran’s habit to suppress venerable persons. What is seen is the pressure tactic of NSS ahead of the Lok Sabha election. Sukumaran Nair has said that he is not ready for NSS-Ezhava unity as long as I’m the SNDP general secretary. This shows who is the real detractor,” added Vellappally.
