THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader V S Achuthnandan has written to Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala, seeking an inquiry into the financial sources of solar scam accused Saritha S Nair.
The letter says that lakhs of rupees have been paid as security deposit in order to procure bail for Saritha. The source of this huge amount of money should be investigated.
“In various cases, Saritha paid Rs 12 lakh towards bail alone. Big amounts were also paid for settling various cases. How did she meet all these expenses? The people have the right to know about the sources of the money she got. In her affidavit filed in the court, Saritha had submitted that there was no cash with her. The government also had informed the court that her account balance was just Rs 70,000.” VS said in his letter.
