CPM not afraid of CBI probe, says Pinarayi

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CPM is not afraid of the CBI probe and is ready to face any investigation in the murder case of RMP leader T P Chandrasekharan, said party state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan. Not only the CBI, any agency investigating the case will not find anything about us, he said.

Talking at a press meet as part of the Kerala Raksha March, he said the steps taken by the government remind us of emergency. The government is going out of the way and taking steps to accuse CPM leaders in the case. The aim behind such move is to destroy our influence.  The government is politically using high police officials to charge CPM leaders in the case. The CBI cannot probe the TP case as per law, he said.

Pinaray said the secret move to destroy CPM was routed and so the government decided to take legal steps. The indefinite strike staged by K K Rema seeking a CBI probe should be linked with it.

Not only the congress and the UDF, communal and terrorist organisations together have formed an anti-Marxist alliance in the name of strike. This will be dealt politically, he said.

VS has the same stand as that of the party in connection with the indefinite strike of Rema. The resolution was passed by the state committee meet attended by VS and that was the one given to the media. In reply to a question on it, Pinarayi said it is not necessary to keep VS away from the party.

Pinarayi said, “I don’t agree with the court findings that a conspiracy was hatched at P K Kunhanandan’s house to murder TP. The court may have believed the statement of RSS activists that they saw Manoj and K C Ramachandran going to Kunhanandan’s house in a bike.
