Probe Chennithala’s role in shifting accused from jail: Pinarayi

ALAPPUZHA:  A conspiracy is behind the shifting of the accused in the TP Chandrashekaran murder case from Kannur to Thrissur jail, alleged CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan. Talking to the media, he said the role of Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala should be probed.

Usually accused are shifted when there are some problems, but in this case nothing of that happened. Not only jail DGP T P Senkumar is behind the shifting of the accused, a conspiracy has also been hatched, he alleged.

Senkumar is behind the disclosure of the clippings of Fayaz, accused in the smuggling case, visiting P Mohanan at the Kozhikode district jail. Someone was seen behind Fayaz, but it is not sure whether it was Mohanan. Efforts were taken to make it as Mohanan.

The accused in the TP case were harassed cruelly. The CPM had earlier responded when jail convicts were attacked. The CPM had strongly responded in the naxal Varghese and in the custodial death case of Udayakumar.

The CBI probing the TP case is unlawful. The police had informed the court that no new proofs have been obtained. Then how can CBI probe be sought. The government’s stand is that they will conduct a probe till accused of their choice is got.
Pinarayi asked the Muslim League to make their stand clear on the attack of the SDPI against CPM activists. The silence of league is surprising. Encouraging Talibanism will not do any good to the state, he said.
