NEW DELHI: Lok Sabha polls of 2014 are likely to be conducted in six phases in April and May. The dates will be announced in the first week of March. Assembly polls in Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Sikkim will be held along with the Lok Sabha polls.
Elections are likely to be completed by May 15 so that political parties will get enough time to hold discussions for forming the government.
Poll expenses are estimated to Rs 3500 crores. This amount is more than the expense of the last Lok Sabha polls.
