KOCHI: Chief Minister Oomen Chandy on Saturday publicly expressed his uneasiness over the way the media “minted” stories whenever he was absent from a function.
Taking part in the inaugural election campaign meeting of the Congress party in Kochi he said: “Whenever I don’t attend a function, the media will make umpteen stories out of that. On the other hand, if I attend a function, it will talk little about that”.
The chief minister said he could not come to V M Sudheeran’s function on time as he had other official functions. He had not come to receive Sonia Gandhi also for the same reason. Sonia was apprised of the matter well in advance and she had also given him the permission.
Chandy said Congress will face the coming Lok Sabha election unitedly. In Kerala, the party will get 20 seats. He also assured Sudheeran of all support to lead the party to roaring victory.
