KANNUR: CPM is hell-bent on winning maximum number of seats in the imminent Lok Sabha election. And, with that intention, it is planning to field top leaders in the party for the election.
When the party campaigns for PB member M A Baby in Kollam, the hearsay is that the party is getting ready to experiment with top leader and PB member Brinda Karat in Vadakara.
There is also a rumour that in Vadakara, the late RMP leader K K Rema is going to contest the poll. It is against this backdrop that the CPM has decided to field Brinda to toughen the election fight. The party feels that a leader like Brinda with mass appeal will be the best bet, especially when it comes to attracting the women voters.
