Minister Mani, team meet CM on Kasturirangan report

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Congress (M) MLAs called on Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and submitted a memorandum requesting to solve the anxiety in the Kasturirangan report. The decision to meet the chief minister was taken at the party executive meet convened the previous day.

The MLAs met the chief minister at the Cliff House Wednesday morning at 8 am. All MLAs except C F Thomas were in the team, led by party chairman and Minister K M Mani, Minister P J Joseph and Govt Chief Whip P C George.

The team asked the chief minister to solve the anxiety on the report. They also requested to distribute the title deeds to deserved farmers of hill ranges after avoiding all the complications.

Mani demanded two seats in the Lok Sabha polls. He said they deserve two seats and asked the chief minister to consider it. One in the team said a positive approach was seen from the side of the chief minister. He agreed to convince the centre about it. Minister K C Joseph has been entrusted to hold talks with union ministers in Delhi. The chief minister agreed to go to Delhi if needed to solve the issue. Meantime, the chief minister did not respond on the two seats we demanded, Mani said.
