CM hoodwinking the public: CPM

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM State secretariat has said, by stating that the office memorandum on Kasturirangan will solve problems of high-range farmers, the chief minister is taking the people of the state for a ride.

The secretariat said that there was no legal validity for the memorandum as the Centre’s stand before the Green Tribunal was that it would implement the Kasturirangan report. “Oommen Chandy is hoodwinking the people when he says that paddy fields, gardens and houses will get the protection. The report will make impossible new constructions in the area, land price will drop and as a result people will be forced to give up their lands,” it said.
