Pension age: DYFI activists barge into CM’s office

Thursday, February 16, 2012: Tension prevailed at the Secretariat complex here on Thursday evening after some of the DYFI activists barged into Chief Minister Oommen Chandy’s office and created pandemonium.
The activists staged protest march to secretariat demanding the government not to raise the pension age to 60 years. Soon after the march the activists barged into the secretariat complex even though the police had erected barricades.
They entered the Chief Minister’s office and shouted slogans. The police later arrested and removed the protestors. Following the incident the police have tightened the security in secretariat complex.
