GANDHINAGAR: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi Friday refused to meet Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, who went to his residence to meet him to discuss about development claims made by the Bharatiya Janata Party's Prime Ministerial candidate in the state.
Kejriwal, who is on a four-day Gujarat visit, alleged that claims of Modi about development in the state, were a lie.
In a high political drama, the AAP leader, armed with 16 questions which he wanted to ask from Modi, went towards the chief minister’s residence in the state capital.
However, the police stopped him from entering the capital city as he had not taken prior appointment with Modi.
AAP leader Manish Sisodia, who went to Gandhinagar after Kejriwal was stopped by the police, said he asked Chief Secretary AK Sharma for an appointment with the Chief Minister.
'We were told that Narendra Modi is busy today and he can't meet us. The Chief Secretary said Modi will look into our request in 2-3 days,' Sisodia told reporters.
'I told the police that if he (Modi) is busy today, I can come tomorrow or any other day. The police told us that Narendra Modi has no time to meet us,' Kejriwal had said earlier when he was stopped by the police.
Kejriwal termed as a 'lie' claims of development in Gujarat by the BJP.
'We are in the state to check out the development claims made by Narendra Modi, but what we have seen in the last two days is very shocking,' Kejriwal said.
His convoy was shown black flags in Ahmedabad.
