Hope VS’ opinion is taken into account, says Chennithala

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: I hope Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will take into account the statement of V S Achuthanandan that government’s stand on the indefinite fast staged by MLAs in the self-financing issue is wrong, said opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala.

Talking to reporters here while reacting to the statement of VS, he said the government should take the initiative to hold talks and end the strike.

The government should compromise and be ready to hold talks. The UDF will go forward with the strike. These kind of strikes were staged earlier in the Kerala Assembly but that did not last for more than three days. The strike of the MLAs has now reached the fifth day. The government is taking a negative approach towards it. The government should be ready to hold talks at least now. They should not forget that the public is watching all this. The government should shelve rivalry and be ready to hold the talks.  The government is behaving with enmity, he said.

KPCC chief V M Sudheeran welcomed the statement of VS. His response is natural, he said.  The government is not taking the strike in a democratic manner, he said.
