Organisational action against E P Jayarajan later: Kodiyeri

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM State Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has said the party will later discuss the organisational action to be taken against E P Jayarajan who today resigned as minister after he was caught in a controversy over nepotism. He said Jayarajan had resigned in order to uphold the image and reputation of the party.

“Pinarayi government’s image can’t be dented by this mere appointment controversy. In the former UDF ministry and Union ministry, there had been many “corrupt” ministers, MLAs and MPs. They had not resigned on their own. The whole of Kerala had seen former chief minister Oommen Chandy walking around with former minister Babu’s resignation letter. The LDF will never compromise with corruption,” he said.

Kodiyeri explained that Jayarajan was a frontline leader of the CPM. “He is a person who have made several sacrifices for the party. As a party man he had served jail term and even faced bullets. Jayarajan, being such a person, today made a confession of his mistakes in the party Secretariat.”
