Elephant kills man in Thrissur
THRISSUR: A private bus was toppled by an elephant which went wild at Kecheri in the district. A motorist identified as Alosius of Paravatti was gored to death by the elephant. The elephant was not brought under control so far.
Almost 20 persons including passengers of the bus have been injured. The condition of two of the injured identified as Ashib (25) and Simsan (36) is stated to be serious. The injured are undergoing treatment at Thrissur Amala Hospital.
Transportation came to a standstill for some time due to the elephant’s attack in the Kunnamkulam-Thrissur route. A tense situation is prevailing in the area. The animal is owned by Sukumarn of Kecheri.
The elephant turned violent when the mahout tried to unfetter the chain tied on its leg.
