Jayarajan’s resignation will soon be handed over to Governor, says CM

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that he has got the resignation of Minister E P Jayarajan, who resigned following allegations of nepotism against him, and it will be soon handed over to Governor. I have sought an appointment from the governor. However, the chief minister refused to respond more on it.

The decision to resign was taken at the CPM state secretariat meet convened here today. He came under severe criticism in the morning on charges of nepotism. Pinarayi, who always comes to the rescue of Jayarajan, just washed his hands of the matter today.

If Jayarajan continues in power then it will give a wrong message to the public. Not only that, the chief minister had taken a strong stand that there is no other way than resignation. Following that, Jayarajan, who earlier agreed to step down, tendered his resignation.
