Oppn not interested in ending strike, says CM

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The opposition UDF is not interested in ending the strike staged by the MLAS in connection with the fee hike in self-financing colleges, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The opposition is continuously stalling the assembly proceedings in the name of 30 students of Pariyaram Medical College, Pinarayi said this soon after the talks convened by the speaker.

The fee in Pariyaram Medical College will be reduced once the government takes over it completely. The government had mentioned it earlier also. The former government had not taken any action on the irregularities shown by other managements. However, this government has drawn a Lakshmanarekha to the managements. The government is stubborn on the future of the students.
