Kerala reels under power shortage
Saturday, February 18, 2012 :With electricity demand touching 3200MW and generation remaining at 2,800 MW, the state is reeling under acute power shortage, prompting the government to resort to long hours of unscheduled power cuts. The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) has been forced to increase the duration of the power cuts in the state barring Thiruvananthapuram. it has been reported that this will continue through April. The zone 3,in Thiruvananthapuram that includes Sree Padamanabhaswamy temple, MLA quarters, Secretariat etc are exempted from this.
