95.47 per cent pass in SSLC exam

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: 95.47 per cent of the students who appeared for the SSLC examination conducted in March 2014 have passed.

Announcing the result on Wednesday, Education Minister P K Abdu Rab said the pass percentage is 1.3 per cent more compared with the last year's results.

As many as 934 schools in the State registered 100 per cent pass. While 94.44 per cent boys won the exam among the girls, it was 96.55 per cent. The pass percentage is highest in Kannur and lowest in Palakkad.

Among 4,60,319 students who appeared for the exam, 4,42,620 qualified themselves for higher studies. 14,802 got A+ for all subjects.  

The number of government schools that had cent percent pass is 281.

In Lakshadweep, 76.5 per cent wrote exam through private arrangements and among them 62.8 per cent have won the exam. In the Gulf, 99.2 is the success percentage.

This time also, there was no moderation, though 51, 702 got grace marks.

The minister said, the certificates would be issued on May 15. The exam for candidates who have failed in one subject will be held between May 12 and 17.
