NEW DELHI: Much ahead of the Lok Sabha the Congress high command reportedly had warned the chief ministers of Congress-ruled states that it would have to act against them if the election results turned out to be an embarrassment in their respective states. The letter regarding this had reached the chief ministers last month.
The instruction was that the Congress should perform well in 151 seats in 11 Congress-ruled states. It is said that because of the above instruction, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy made a statement, owning the responsibility of defeat, if it happens.
If the Congress happens to lose sure seats, it certain would show the door for chief ministers of the respective states.
The central leadership is expected to act tough on Maharastra chief minister Prithviraj Chauhan and Haryana chief minister Bhupeendar Singh Hooda. Uttarakhand chief minister Hareesh Ravath and Himachal chief minister Veerbhadra Singh are the others in the central leadership’s hit list.
