THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The final list of candidates of the congress will be ready by the end of this month, said KPCC chief V M Sudheeran. Election committee meet is being convened on March 23. Talks with allied parties’ will be completed at the earliest. Talking to reporters here, he said the list set after considering the names directed by DCC’s will be soon handed over to AICC.
The congress has not voiced for the Thiruvambady seat. The regional leadership and the Thamarasseri diocese voiced the demand on the candidate. The priests have brought to the notice some difficulties amongst them. It will be discussed with the league and a solution acceptable to all will be taken.
The response of the chief minister in the Methran lake issue is satisfactory. The scheme was there at the time of the LDF Government. Due to strong protests, they were not able to move forward with it. The then agriculture minister had opposed it. However, many in the cabinet including industries minister supported it. The project has no relevance now and so we opposed it.
