THIRUVANANTHAPURM: CPM State secretary Pinarayi Vijayan has urged the media to stop spreading rumours about CPM and Deshabhimani. Reacting to queries related to Deshabhimani’s land deal, on Monday, he asked reporters whether it was ethical on their part to spread false reports.
Pinarayi came down heavily on Asianet news channel for airing news about the sale of the land owned by CPM mouthpiece Deshabhimani. “ What Asianet reported was cent percent false and don’t make the channel a platform to spread untruth. Asianet may be having its own vested interests and because of that they should not defame Deshabhimani and CPM,” he said.
The CPM leader said the land was bought by Danish Chacko, who himself had revealed it. He dared Asianet to bring any proof that would go against his statement.
“The party has the right to sell Deshabhimani’s land. The land was sold with the full knowledge of the party. We have no intention to take legal action against the channel but will expose unfair reportings through public statements,” he said.
