PATHANAMTHITTA: The congress expelled Congress District Congress Committee (DCC) member Varghese Philip (Monayi) from the party. He was expelled for campaigning for Peelipose Thomas, the LDF candidate, and for defaming P J Kurien.
He was a former member of the Ayiroor panchayat and former standing council chairman.
