Muslim League-SDPI clash in Kannur

KANNUR: The poll-related violence and fire incidents that had begun in Thalipparambu have spread to Pazhavangadi. Two shops in Puthiyangadi and Mottambram were allegedly set on fire on late on Sunday night and today morning.

‘Cotton Centre’ garment shop near Mottambram crescent school and owned by Kallassery Niyojakamandalam secretary Taufeeq caught fire at 12 midnight.

The fire came to the notice of Pazhayangadi SI E K Shiju ad Driver Shivadasan, following which the fire was put off by the police and neighbours.

Muslim league activist R Sathar’s hardware paint shop near Ameen mosque caught fire around 3 am. The shop was completely gutted in fire. Fire force from Thalipparambu and Payyannore rushed to the spot and put out the fire.
