Youth drowns in Neyyar dam

KATTAKADA: A youth from a three-member team who came to celebrate Vishu in Neyyar dam drowned in the reservoir. He has been identified as Arun alias Shibu (25), son of Sivan and Anitha Kumari of Ottashekaramangalam. The incident happened Tuesday evening near the Sivananda Ashram in Neyyar dam. Shibu runs a barber shop in Ottashekaramangalam.

His body was fished out by the local residents who reached the place after hearing the cries of his friends.

The incident happened while he was having bath. The body has been shifted to the mortuary of the medical college hospital.
