ADIMALI: An employee of Beverages Corporation was found dead on the Kochi-Madurai national highway under suspicious circumstances. His friend has been taken into custody. The dead identified as P P Sreekumar (43), employee of the Beverages shop at Edappally in Kochi, was found dead on the Kallar Vattayar sector, 15 kilometres near Adimali at the Kochi-Madurai national highway. The Adimali police has taken into custody Iqbal, an employee of the same shop and his friend, in connection with the incident.
Some injuries were found on Sreekumar’s body. His friend Iqbal has been taken into custody for drunken driving. He told police that he was on his way to trace Sreekumar as he was found missing. Police said the two had a fight after consuming liquor but Iqbal’s statement is found to be contradictory. Things will be clear only after more investigation.
