THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan Tuesday demanded a comprehensive probe on the order given to reclaim the Methran Lake. He asked that if the previous government had given permission then why this government gave permission again. Kodiyeri said this while replying to chief minister’s allegation that the previous government gave permission for the project.
Meantime, giving permission to reclaim the Methran Kayal is a shameless act, said opposition leader V S Achuthanandan. Law was dug to help the corporates. The allegation that the Left Government first gave permission to reclaim lake is shameless, he said.
