THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: No steps will be taken to politicize the police department, said Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala. Addressing a Face to Face programme organized by the Press Club after swearing in as a minister, he said the vigilance will not be made a caged parrot.
Chennithala said priority will be given to the safety of women and children. Aim is to change Kerala into Nirbhaya state. The government wants the CBI to probe the case involving Salim Raj, former gunman of the chief minister. The truth should come out, he said.
Chennithala said the demand of Minister of State Mullappally Ramachandran seeking a CBI probe in the T P Chandrasekharan murder case is a serious one.
The problems with Kerala Congress (B) chairman R Balakrishna Pillai will be solved after discussions. A new KPCC chief can assume office at any time. Seat allocation for the Lok Sabha polls has not started.
