Kerala Congress splits, family rule in party, says Antony Raju

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Antony Raju, Francis George and Dr K C Joseph have left the party after the split in Kerala Congress (Mani). Addressing a press conference here, Antony Raju announced his resignation from the party. The old Kerala Congress (J) would be revived and Francis George would be the chairman of it, he told the media. The party’s state committee would be convened on March 9.

Family rule is seen in the Kerala Congress. The leadership of K M Mani cannot be accepted again. Mani is joining hands with communal forces for his son Jose K Mani which cannot be permitted. Organizational polls have not been conducted in the party. Party chairman Mani is behaving unilaterally. The values of the party is being distorted for Jose K Mani and other leaders are being sidelined, alleged Antony Raju. As a minister, he was not transparent. I have never stated that Mani has not accepted bribe. I said that a case cannot be registered under the prevention of corruption act, he added.

No formal talks were held in joining the LDF, he said.
