Don’t threaten me in the name of Vigilance inquiry: VS

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan said he need not be threatened in the name of Vigilance case against his son. “Don’t think that I will be force to withdraw from my fight against high level corruption involving Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and Finance Minister K M Mani, if my son’s case is uses a deterrent against me.

“My son V A Arun Kumar was the Coirfed MD in 2001. After he quit as the MD, the case against him was inquired several times during the chief ministership of A K Anony and Oommen Chandy over a span of 15 years. But nothing was to found to implicate Arun and now the UDF dug up the issue on the eve of the election,” he said.

Achuthanandan alleged that facts which could not be proved by investigation officers then are now made into a report under an infamous police officer and leaked out to the media just a day ahead of the poll. People would laugh off Chandy’s ploy to baffle the public.

“Several cases were forged on gifting of land, handing over of Data centre, ICT academy recruitment, and appointment of Info Park CEO. All that fizzled out like damp crackers. The government is digging up the 20 year-old case in order to find some respite at a time when it is rotting under the effect of Palmolein case, solar case and bar bribery case,” VS  added.
