KANNUR: CPM district secretariat member Karayi Rajan will become Kannur district panchyat president. Party’s Thalassery Area Committee member Karayi Chandrasekaran will be the new chairman of Thalassery Corporation.
Ironically, both are accused in the Faisal murder case, but they got bail from an Ernakulam court and went to submit the nominations. They will also arrive for the swearing-in ceremony in a similar manner.
The party had earlier decided to field both as candidates to chief posts. Ever since they got inducted to the powerful posts, they have been readying to approach the court to get their bail condition - that they should not leave Ernakulam - relaxed
