THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In the first phase of the local body polls held on Monday, the total polling percentage was a record 77.83 percentage, according to the information provided by State election commission.
In 2010, the polling percentage was 77.38 and this has increased by 0.45 percentage.
The highest polling was recorded in Wayanad district – 82.18 pc and the lowest percentage of 72.40 was recorded in Thiruvananthapuram.
Polling percentages in other districts were – Kollam - 76.24, Idukki - 78.33, Kozhokode - 81.46, Kannur - 80.91, Kasargod - 78.43
