THRISSUR: An investigation team led by SP Mohan Das probing the murder of Chavakkad Congress worker A C Haneefa has filed the charge sheet in the court. In the charge sheet it is mentioned that Haneefa was killed due to group rivalry.
There are eight accused in the case. Shameer, Ansar, Rinshad, Fasal, Afsal, Aabid, Siddique and Shafi. By the way, former Guruvayur Congress Block President C A Gopaprathapan has not been named as accused in the case for lack of sufficient evidence, according to the investigation team.
Earlier the photograph of Gopaprathapan posing with the accused were made public.
The incident related to the case happened on August 7 at around 10 in the night. The former Congress block secretary of 14th ward, A C Haneefa was stabbed to death in front of his mother.
