THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Police today arrested four persons including two women from Pattom who were allegedly involved in online flesh trade. The modus operandi was, they rented houses in the heart of the city and advertised their sex-for-money business on social media.
Deepudath (37) from Muttathara Anappada house and an accused in over 12 cases including murder case , Muthathara Parambil Nagar Prashanth (35) and two women natives of Kovalam were the persons arrested by the Shadow police.
According to police, the racketeers ran their business from a Pottakkuzhi-Gowreeshapattom residential association house. They posted the pictures of beautiful girls on facebook pages with phone numbers. They will then ask the prospective customers who make a call to come to Pattom and from there the agents will take them to the rented house.
The police said that they decided to carry out the arrest after keeping a close watch on the perpetrators of the crime for some time. Police have recovered high end mobile phones from them.
The accused was presented in the court and remanded in the custody. Shankumugham Asisstant Commisoner Jawahar Janardh, Control room AC Pramod Kumar, Medical College CI Sheen Tharayil, Sis S Bijoy, K Babu, CPO O Naufal and women police officers Rajalakshmi, Preeja, Girija and shadow policemen Gopan, Jayakumar and Vinod carried out the arrest.
