KOCHI: Mohan Menon, the special prosecutor in the Paravoor sex case, has resigned. Official explanation is that he resigned due to health problems. The resignation letter has been handed over to crime branch SP.
The crime branch had earlier noticed that assistant prosecutor Ayub Khan appointed to help Menon in the case, had sought an amount of Rs 1.5 crore to free the accused. Following that, he was removed from the post. Menon had earlier stated that he was shocked and ashamed of Ayub’s action. However, Menon was also in the shadow of doubt from that day onwards.
